The Kibworth Parents Association is excited to support pupils at our school with their Winter Coat Collection.
They will be collecting donations of good-condition winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes suitable for children aged 4–11. Please ensure that all donations are clean and in wearable condition, without damage.
Donations can be left in the donations box inside the school entrance from Friday 2 October until Friday 16 October. They will then be gifted on to those who need them.
More information about the collection…
The KPA was approached by pupils who wanted to help make sure that no children were left feeling cold this winter when travelling to school or playing outside. They proposed collecting pre-loved winter coats and winter accessories to share with pupils in need.
Approximately 300,000 children in the UK may go without a winter coat, according to research by the children’s charity Barnardo’s. We love that pupils at our school are working hard to help tackle this issue.
Braunstone Community Primary School is part of Discovery Schools Trust with over 420 pupils. According to school equality audits, it has been identified as one of the most deprived schools across Leicester and Leicestershire and is within the lowest 10% most deprived areas nationally. We are pleased that your donations can help make a difference.
We also appreciate that having access to a warm winter coat may be a challenge to some families within our community. Therefore, we would also like to offer families the opportunity to request a coat for children at our school.
Please feel free to speak to the school office about this, or if you would rather your request remain anonymous, you can reach out to the wonderful team at The Well who can share your needs with us anonymously. You can message them via the Contact page of their website at https://www.thewellkibworth.org/contact
Thank you for supporting this wonderful cause with us,
